A Little Quiet

I had nothing to do for a few minutes and almost immediately found something. Picked up my phone, put it down, thought about starting the laundry.

Apparently I’m bad at leaving a few minutes alone.

The house was quiet. I could hear someone outside rolling their trash bin back from the alley. I stayed where I was.

I miss this sometimes, even though I’m so quick to fill it. Being home, letting my mind wander, having nothing much to say about the day.

It was nice to sit for a while, drinking my coffee and looking out the window. I stayed until I finished my cup.
